The hightlighted information on the right is. I know this is a viable concern because my buddys GPMG has this issue with the stock 550mm inner barrel and aforementioned super long flashhider.
Im maxing out my inner barrel length because of the high risk of bbs hitting the comically long flashhider.
Airsoft cylinder to barrel ratio. What is cylinder to barrel ratio in Airsoft. To simplify the piston inside the cylinder pushes air into the barrel which makes the BB fly out of the barrel. Off the bat you might think that the more air pressure the better but thats not exactly the case.
The ratio between the cylinder volume and the barrel volume is the volume ratio. This volume ratio combined with air pressure is what determines the speed that the bb exits the barrel. If the ratio is to low then the bb will not be pushed by air the whole way down the barrel so.
The heavier BBs need a higher cylinderbarrel ratio. For 043g a ratio of 291 is suggested. Just like AEGs they only have so much cylinder volume.
The equation is CylinderBarrel 75 weight of the bb in grams2155. The information on the left is the theoretical weight of the bb and the associated derived ratio. The highlighted information are the weights used by 1tonne in his information.
The hightlighted information on the right is. Cylinder to barrel volume ratio 271 So even still a good bit over volumed on a 509mm barrel but it makes it perfect for heavy weight bbs. Airborne101 Dec 23 2014.
I dont know the answer to your question but with a 500mm barrel you will most likely be under volumed in air when using a ported cylinder. Most that I see are recommended for 400mm or less barrel length. In addition it will matter where the ports are in relation to the end of the cylinder.
Any fᎥrearms portrayed on this website are not real they are replicas used only for the purpose of playing airsoft. For example the barrel in one of the most popular entry airsoft replicas GG Combat Raider is 363mm long which is an optimal length for an AEG rᎥfle in UK based on the 350 FPS limits. Anything above 300mm will not have significant difference in range and accuracy.
My primary is an overvolumed mp5k. I run a 141mm 605 pdi barrel on a normal full cylinder with an m120 spring atm normally use an m130 and get 340 fps on 2s 315 fps on 25 280 fps on 36. With light bbs 020g to 025g you will want to maintain a ratio of 15 cylinder air volume to 10 of the barrel.
In a perfect world it would be one to one but in real life we have to account for drag caused by friction and mass. For bbs past 025g you will need more air volume to overcome drag. The ratio between the cylinder volume and the inner barrel volume is known as the volume ratio.
This ratio partly determines the speed that the bb exits the barrel. When the ratio is too low the bb will not have enough power to run through the barrel optimally. Cylinder barrel ratio.
By Hangtight January 8 2018 in General Help. Airsoft Forums UK Independent AF since 2008 Powered by Invision Community. This estimator assumes that the motor can draw the required amps so to get the estimated rof a good battery and wiring is needed.
See the electrical guide for details about how to improve your guns electrical system. PORTED CYLINDER IN LONG BARREL CONFIGURATION PROBLEMS. Basically when you have less air in the cylinder X than you do in the barrel what it takes to get your FPS the air that actually propels the BB to 400 fps as soon as the compression is 11 for X vs Barrel you start to get negative compression.
Hello I am planning on throwing some DSGs in my build. Was able to snag the last 101 siegeteks on Brill 1078 9 tooth not 1044 8 tooth since that was already sold out. Obviously my cylinderbarrel ratio will be changed since the piston is now only being pulled back 916th of the way but to what extent.
Here is a list of what ranges of barrel lengths which cylinder types are recommended for. As stated above you want to get your volumes of your cylinder and barrel to match up as closely as possible. Having less volume in your cylinder than in your.

What battery should I use for my Airsoft replica. AEG Wiki - Airsoft Ranch. CylinderBarrel Volume Ratio - YouTube.
Every cylinder type has a different capacity the same goes for barrels longer the barrel more capacity it has more air in the cylinder in ratio to the barrel the heavier bbs can be used. The most optimal ratio is between 180-320. It allows us to select the most common bb weight.
For example if we want to use a 028g bbs the ratio. The ratio between the cylinder volume and the inner barrel volume is known as the volume ratio. This ratio partly determines the speed that the bb exits the barrel.
When the ratio is too low the bb will not have enough power to run through the barrel optimally. When the ratio is too higher than necessary air pressure will apply spin to the bb. The ratio between the cylinder volume and the inner barrel volume is known as the volume ratio.
This ratio partly determines the speed that the bb exits the barrel. When the ratio is too low the bb will not have enough power to run through the barrel optimally. The ratio between the cylinder volume and the inner barrel volume is known as the volume ratio.
This ratio partly determines the speed that the bb exits the barrel. When the ratio is too low the bb will not have enough power to run through the barrel optimally. Cylinder for 590mm not 509mm barrel.
Im building my new Echo 1 M240 into a GPMG. Im maxing out my inner barrel length because of the high risk of bbs hitting the comically long flashhider. I know this is a viable concern because my buddys GPMG has this issue with the stock 550mm inner barrel and aforementioned super long flashhider.
