The gas gauge and battery gauge work just fine. I am hoping it is something simple as new gauges can get pretty expensive.
You should see something in the range of approx.
Boat rpm gauge not working. RPM gauge not working Check the ground wire to be sure it is getting a good ground. If the ground is good then you can test the recitifer to see if it is good. My Rpm gauge isnt working found out why the speedo isnt working but what wires should I be looking for on the engine or where is the sensor I should be looking for I am not sure where its connected to the engineredface.
Put the boat boat in the water today and the RPM gauge is not working and it is causing the alarm to beep. The digital one works just fine. It didnt start until I got up to about 3000RPMs.
Once it started it didnt stop until I turned the boat off. Started it again not on until 3000RPMs. Last time I took my boat out I noticed the tachometer and speed gauge are not working.
The gas gauge and battery gauge work just fine. I noticed under the dash there is a fuse. Does that have something to do with the gauges.
I am hoping it is something simple as new gauges can get pretty expensive. I appreciate the help. If it makes diagnosis.
The simplist check is to unplug the plug from the back of the dash and try another one all the plugs are interchangable. If it works then its the plug if not the guage is bad. There are always used one on ebay as people replace it with PP gauges often.
Easy enough re the sync gage. When it is centered both engines are at exactly the same RPMs or in sync Once you get familiar with the boat you will be able the hear that they are sync. If not there will be a noticeable vibration or rumble coming from the props not.

If you need parts or have any questions contact us at 815-363-12. Next check the tach signal. If the tach isnt getting a signal from the engine it will not operate.
With the engine running again use a voltmeter a measure the signal between the ground and signal terminals on the tach. You should see something in the range of approx. Start the motor turn on the shop tachometer meter and run the motor up to 1000 rpm on the shop tachometer.
Take note of and compare this reading to your boats tachometer. Check the outboards charging system if no signal is detected. The two tachometers should read within 10 percent of each other – if the shop tachometer reads 1000 rpm.
A quick glance is all thats needed to see that your systems are all go That is an important point to remember because when considering meters and gauges its not always about the numbers. Its also about monitoring trends up or down of the system that the gauge or meter is monitoring. My boat tach started showing rpms way higher than it should and I could tell the motor wasnt actually turning that high.
So here we are trying to diagnose. If the gauge then reads full scale then the problem was with your sender. Get a new one.
For the fuel gauge its best to remove it from the tank and manually work the float mechanism to see if the gauge then moves. If not unplug the pink wire and connect it to a known good ground like your engine block or the negative terminal on your battery. The RPM gauge–called a tachometer–tells you the number of revolutions per minute RPM that your boat motors crankshaft is turning.
The RPM gauge lets you know when you approach the highest number of revolutions per minute that your motor can attain without hemorrhaging internally so that you dont exceed that rate. Wires a grey wire and a red wire connected. Move the grey wire from.
The terminal with the yellow wire to the other terminal with the. Yellow wire and see if the Tach works if so replace the rectifier if. Not check your harness for any breaks and have some one put a test.
Tach on the system. I need troubleshooting advice. My fuel gauge trim gauge and speedometer dont function any longer.
The priority is fuel gauge. It stopped working a few years ago and when I had it repaired at a boat shop it still didnt work with the evidence that something was done because the indicator now functioned in reverse. A broken boat gauge is pesky.

I have a 2015 g3 pontoon f250xca with a garmin 840xs fishfinder instead of the command link gauges. This is a factory install. None of the gauges work on the garmin.
The only thing I get is with the engine running the needle appears on the speedo no hrs fuel level or anything. Not even any even any. This year when I put the boat on the water both the Tachometer Speedometer were not working.
The analog portion of the gauges needle bounced and would not return home when powered off or sitting still in the case of the speedo. I found a cheap new in box speedo for a Calabria on eBay w the same digital display that plugged in and worked great. Gauges not working.
The gauges which read engine info tachometer hour meter trim are not working. The tachometer and trim gauges respond to the initialization when key is turned on but nothing after. I assume its a signal issue and not a fuse since they do the initialization.
They are Faria analog gauges connected to a Mercury Verado 150. So volt gauge was still kind of weird yesterday I got in and it wasnt working then after a bit it started working so all is good right.
