Cigarette lighter works but wont charge. If this makes sense when you push the lighter element in the contacts are made to heat up the element. So the ground is deep in the well. But when i plug in a usb device and the iphone cable it will not charge my phone. I have checked the usb device it is giving me 5v. I can charge my colleagues Samsung but it wont work on my iphone.

5 Oct 5 2008. Most car are designed where you cant use the cigarette lighter for those plug in style electronics they are being setup for cigarette lighters only. You have to use a power outlet if your car has one.

Lots of fords are this way you cant even begin to fit a cell charger into the outlet itll only fit. I have the wireless charging tray but as a backup when my wife is with me I ordered a USB-C cable to use with her Samsung. I figured it was power supply for behind the front 2 seats so perhaps it will provide power in the center console as well.

The cigarette lighter one I have seems to work but it is not secure enough to maintain the contacts. The only thing is Im kind of struggling with the cigarette lighter and the usb. The cigarette lighter does not work at all also the rear vent for the ac does not work at all either.
