However recently it has gotten to the point where it wont even click in all the way and will keep falling out and will not dash charge unless I really push and keep it charging at an angle.

I used an app on my phone that is supposed to show charging info I dont know how accurate it is but these were the results. 488 watt and 977 mA Front USB. 407 watt and 814 mA Centre console.

After some experimentation with other solutions I found one that fits well and doesnt require a lot of dash drilling or modification. Most dashcams are USB powered by a mini USB port. You can basically ignore the 12volt charger and just wire a long USB cable to any USB port which can supply enough power. The USB port on the dash will only give out a maximum of around 500mA probably even less than that more likely 100mA. So on a typical phone with a 3A battery it would take about 30 hours to fill up. And thats without using it the phone is probably drawing between 80-120mA so potentially the phone might not ever charge and in fact discharge albeit slower than normal.
