When I purchased the unit Lowrance said the transducer on the model originally installed would work for the Elite 5. They suggested I do an update. Did and problem remained.

I got a lowrance elite-5 hdi for Christmas and with the warm weather yesterday afternoon I decided to install and hook it up in the Jon boat. I turned it on and after the install wizard ran it shut off. I turned it back on and now it wont go past the lowrance elite start up screen.
Anyone seen or have this happen to them before. The issue we are having is with the map side when we zoom in the screen goes blank for 15 - 40 seconds. The trail goes missing then appears.
This is a huge pain when getting to your mark and trying to set up your drift. We also have an issue with the boat direction indicator arrow. The model Elite 5x from Lowrance is a bit out dated I currently have one on my boat That model would require GPS signal to be able to read MPH unfortunately it does not.
