Power pole vs talon 2017. The power poles do what they are supposed to from what Ive seen as well but they deploy more like a crab leg rather than a straight vertical deployment of the talon. I have fished out of freshwater and saltwater boats with power poles and never saw an issue. They do require some space for the hydraulic pumps to operate however.
Power Pole wins the weight battle against Talon with every comparable model. The internal mechanisms of Talon units are quite a bit heavier than those of the hydraulic-based Power Pole. If weight is a determining factor for your setup Power Pole is the clear choice.

Theres pro and cons on both. Talon is easy to install no hydraulic hoses goes deeper no twist which I hate seeing at times it goes too deep and has a little problem pulling out of the mud. Theyre cheaper for a reasoneveryone I know with talons has had some form of issue.
Power poles seem to be pretty much trouble free and the customer service is top shelf. That alone is worth the few extra. I will say if you can swing it but two.

I have the 12 foot Talon on my 210BR. Finbully - 10202017 1057 AM With the virtual anchoring the newer bow motors have I think the Power Poles and Talons are obsolete. Think about it use your bow motor to hold a spot in any depth water they correct for wind and current and will jog in any direction with your commands.

I also looked at one of those micro power spikes as well as the Talon. Think the FSH might exceed the recommended weight limit on the micro power spike. Nice thing about any of the spikes power or manual is that you can get them out of the way when not being used.
Honestly I am mostly concerned about the power to weight ratio of this boat. Talon Power pole needs hydro pumps and res which needs space which these trackers dont have. So youre pretty much out of that unless maybe the pumps where stored in the back storage compartments.
