Starter turns but does not engage

The other possibility the worst scenario is some teeth have sheared of the flywheel and so the bendix is engaging nothing. If its worn out to the point that the solenoid isnt passing current might as well look into a new one to be safe.

Try turning the gear again just to make sure it is for sure your starter clutches. Then take the 17mm nut off the flywheel put on your puller and take the flywheel off. Once you break it off youll see on the backside of the flywheel are the starter clutches.
